No half-second delay after idle
It picks up the moment I move it, even after an hour untouched. The only quirk is that the first scroll after waking sometimes does not register, so I nudge the wheel twice.

Settings live in the mouse
I configured the buttons on a work laptop where I cannot install software, and the settings stayed when I moved to a different machine. Nothing to reinstall, nothing to sign into.

Two batteries lasted the quarter
Put in a pair of AAAs in January and replaced them in April, using it eight hours a day. The low battery light came on two days before it died, which was enough warning.

Pairing button is reachable
It is on the bottom, which sounds inconvenient until you realise you only press it when switching machines. I paired a desktop and a tablet in under a minute each.

Receiver tucks into the base
There is a slot under the battery cover, so the dongle travels with the mouse instead of getting lost in a bag. The fit is snug enough that it has never fallen out.
